If you are blood-thirsty and hungry for some action and thrill, "The Punisher" will take you to a violent journey of vengeance and retribution. I've seen the Hollywood movie but the killing is far more sensational and brutal when it comes to the actual video game exploits. How would you like to exact your own revenge? You are in dire control! But don't worry, at least, you'll only have to ruin lives of fictional characters in a computer game habitat. It's nothing compared to the air strike plotted by the Israeli that slaughtered almost 54 Lebanese civilians. Now, that's true-to-life drama while real lives are consumed by these acts of these senseless killings. So if you worry about your son's addiction to violent video games, first think of the age-old battle of supremacy between nations. It's more alarming than you think it is. For in our hearts reside a punisher.

In PS2's " The Punisher", you assume the role of Frank Castle, a combat veteran turned vigilante. His aim is to exact revenge after his family was brutally murdered by callous criminals. It's a classic tale of a man who veers into violent rage in pursuit of justice and retribution. Castle is his own judge, jury and executioner and there's no reason why social crooks and sinisters should live in his society. He's torn between good and evil. His got the purest intention but the most devious acts. It reflects the same scenario with the long-standing war in Israel. We've seen how they've greatly suffered from loss and tragedy. All you need is to watch "The Schindler's List" and you'll feel the same pain, being deprived of dignity and respect. So long as Israelis hold on to its past grief and agony, WWII will never be vindicated by history. A twist of fate turns victims into ferocious hunters of retribution.

When I first heard of "The Punisher" as PS2 game, I thought, it will only be a senseless trash of shooting spree. I mean, how can they capture the movie drama in a bloody action game? But I was wrong. Although it is gory and messy, every action sequence and scenes will be enough to stir a punisher out of you. You'll run through a maze of basement walls and into the mansion's secret hiding places. When you run out of ammo, you'll turn every item into a dealy weapon. You can grab and burn you enemy's head to the fireplace. That's how sadistic the punisher can be! But hey at least it's the bad guys! You don't need to feel any remorse later on. There are 100 ways to kill and claim lives. You can execute your own entrapment and interrogate enemies. The dubbed voices are really good and it fuels up the drama of the lead role's character. The movie is fused into the actual game and what else can you expect from well-executed screenshots and play? I'd suggest that instead of war, everybody should release their fear, tension and agony playing this PS2 game. Who knows, this may result to peace after we let out our violent rage!

As I may have said in my previous entries, I am an addict on role playing games. I like problem solving and mystery games. But this particular upcoming PS2 game caught my attention since it's about Hard Rock Casino, and casino games are also one of my fave. So if you have experienced playing Casino games at Hard Rock and you are most certainly looking forward to visiting the place again but you have no money and time to go their again, that is no longer a problem since Hard Rock Casino will soon launch it upcoming PS2 game version of casino adaptation.
Also available in Playstation portable, the game features 20 distinct casino games, ranging from slots to sports books, that are graphically cartoons in style, but fun and competitive in a sense. Graphically, the whole game looks amazing along with its casino atmosphere that makes you want to play and deal for more. The gameplay starts with a mission style based, wherein you will be playing as a beginner gambler and you need find your way up to a higher status. Now, if you don't have the money to play for a real casino game, Hard Rock Casino will more or less give you a real Casino thrill that you need. And it's only for $15 to $30 on both PS2 and PS portables.
Wait till its out on October this year, gamblers will surely experience a real life Casino gameplay from Playstation 2's Hard Rock Casino.

Of all the PlayStation 2 games that I have tried, the UFC made the lasting impact on me. Not because it is entitled the "UFC: Sudden Impact". It is because of the raw fight scenes and the new and unique moves that you would not see on any other game.
I never fail to watch the exciting UFC match on the boob tube. I just love learning from the contenders' moves and techniques. Now, how would I feel if I were the one inside that ring? I do not have the time to take actual UFC training classes. So, I opted for the PlayStation 2 game, instead.
The UFC: Sudden Impact game is totally action-packed. I read some of its reviews. All the UFC fans bought the game and they all got hooked. This is a game with unpredictable endings. In just a quick head wrap, the fight scene would instantly change. It's just like the real thing. The characters really get bruised up in the scenes. Everything is so real. This is one mixed martial arts game that transcends the world of 3D PlayStation games.

This game is the one game that I cannot live without, literally. I am a hiphop fan, myself, so, when I heard about this game, I immediately bought it. Def Jam: Fight for New York, is a highly suspenseful game. I must warn you that it really uses "street fighting". Unlike the mixed martial arts or kick boxing, Def Jam features a more modern approach to fighting.
This game features more than 60 rappers and hiphop artists. My favorite is Ludacris, of course. But, I also use Snoop Dogg a lot. I would laugh out loud if the talented Jamie Foxx suddenly appears in the next installations. It would surely be a riot to see all those great rappers fight for New York.
This Def Jam PlayStation 2 game is something for the young adults and the young at heart. I do not suggest this game for very young kids. Hey, don't you see those parental advisory notices in rappers' CDs? Then, this one's not an exemption to the rule. If you're a hiphop fan just like me, this PS2 game is one thing that you should not live without. It has boom bass sound effects and all the hot rappers' girls are in the game as well. Play on, players!

Since the dance revolution was invented, I was totally addicted to it. Every morning, during the summer vacation, I would wake up early in the morning and play the dance revolution. After a few moments' time, I would sweat like crazy. It's a good way to exercise and to lose unwanted body pounds! Not only do you get to dance to the tunes of your favorite pop artists, you also get to pick up a few nice moves for the dance floor. The dance revolution has come a long way. You would see it in mall arcades everywhere.
The DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution is one of the newest PlayStation 2 games around. It features real music videos. The graphics and the presentations are way better than the first one. There are a few more additional tracks that you can groove to all day! There are 65 tracks in it, I think. My favorite Kylie Minogue song is even included in the tracks. You can just pop this game on anytime and dance all day long!
I think this game is the perfect PlayStation 2 interaction game for people of all ages. This game provides entertainment, fun, excitement, and most importantly, fitness. You don't just use your hands and your mind in this game. You actually involve your physical body in the game. It's a fun way to stay fit and to stay entertained!

Computer games are not anymore limited to bulky arcade gaming. Computer games are now available in many formats. You can play them in game consoles, PC, and portable devices, such as Gameboy, cellular phones and PDAs. The quality of graphics is superbly realistic. The storylines are very creative and movie-like. You can also play computer games online with other players around the world with the use of broadband internet connections.
Computer games are inspired by many different influences, such as sports, history, literature, movies, and mythology. Basically, computer games offer both intellectual and reflex challenges. God of War is one particular computer game of Play Station2 that has the elements of mythology, adventure and intellectual challenge. God of War is an action adventure game that revolves around the tale of vengeance.
The backdrop is ancient Greek mythology. The main hero of the game is a Spartan warrior by the name of Kratos. His conflict is both internal and external. The game starts with a backgrounder about Kratos suicidal tendencies. This warrior throws himself off the tallest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus. The gods of Olympus have abandoned him. This scene is actually an anti-climax. The real adventure begins three weeks prior.

The target audiences of Grandia III are teens, but I'm sure older guys are going to enjoy this positive-adventure PS2 game that will be released on February 2006. The story revolves around the protagonist Yuki who has dreams of flying to the mainland--inspired by the legend of a pilot named Schmidt. When he meets Alfina, the battle begins. Alfina is a Communicator with a resentful brother named Emelious. Communicators are able to talk with the Guardians, who are the protectors of the world.
Square Enix, the makers of Grandia III beam with pride at the future release of this PS2 sure-hit. They not only boast of the easy control of the command wheel in the battle system, they are also proud that the game sends a positive message to the players "You have the freedom to control your fate."
This is one smashing PS2 game to look forward to!

The Gran Turismo series of games have always been the bar by which many, if not all racing games have been measured against. With the stunning graphics (even on the first Playstation game), great game play and an ever-increasing number of cars, the Gran Turismo series has always been one of the most eagerly awaited and anticipated games for any console.
Things are no different for the latest installment, Gran Turismo 4. Featuring a whopping 700 cars to race, spanning all eras of automotive history, Gran Turismo 4 challenges you to build a garage at least as big as autoway.com's used car lot.
This sequel retains all of the features you may love or hate, such as the patience-testing license tests. If you want some great racing action, impressive graphics, long races and owning a fleet of cars you don't know what to do with, then Gran Turismo 4 is just the game for you.

Have you ever been so pissed in traffic that you wish, barring traffic laws and lawsuits, to just give in to your road rage and take out each and every car that stood in your way? You do? Well, my friend, do I have a game for you!
Burnout Revenge is the latest and greatest game in the Burnout series of games, and as that game series has shown, one of the most brutal and satisfying racing games ever made. Here you don't just race around a track, trying to be the first to cross the finish line; here, the objective is to crash and burn your opponent’s vehicle until it becomes a flaming pile of wreckage. As I said, one of the most satisfying games out there.
If you've ever wanted to vent some of that road rage, or just enjoy a fun racing game with your friends, then Burnout revenge is the game for you!

Marvel does it again! Another great game based on one of their flagship characters, Spider-Man, has hit the gaming world, and boy does it look great!
Titled Ultimate Spider-Man, this game puts players not just in the tight spandex of Peter Parker's web-slinging alter-ego, but also in the slimy alien symbiote suit of his arch-enemy, the maniacal Venom.
Set in a free-roaming environment, and featuring painted cel art by Mark Bagley, the current Ultimate Spider-Man artist and a story written by Michael Bendis, you can be sure that Ultimate Spider-Man will be one of the most faithful comics-to-game translations ever!

Were you, like many Matrix fans, somewhat perturbed by the conclusion of the Matrix series? Did you want a different way for the series to end? Or do you wish you could just relive the whole experience all over again?
Now, die-hard fans of the Matrix phenomenon can do all that with the PS2 game Matrix: The Path of Neo. This time, players are Neo, not some two-bit characters who don't factor too much in the final analysis. This game is a fancy brawler/action game that encompasses all three Matrix movies, putting you through important events from each.
With good physics and game play, Matrix: the Path of Neo will please fans of the trilogy, but might leave gamers a bit cold, as the game graphics leave much to be desired and there is slowdown when the game throws a ton of opponents at you. Nevertheless, Matrix: The Path of Neo is one game Matrix fans will do well to pick up.

How could anyone call himself an avid RPGer (Role-Playing Gamer) and not know this game? This was the game that really put Square on the map. Sure they were already known in many gaming circles as publishers of great games, but it was Final Fantasy VII that really pushed them into the limelight.
Appearing for the PlayStation, Final Fantasy VII took gamers on a massive quest to save the world from an evil madman bent on destroying it. Taking the role of Cloud Strife and others, players would spend an estimated 90+ hours playing through the game's multiple discs to get to the final battle with Sephiroth.
A certified hit through and through, Final Fantasy VII deserves a spot on any serious gamer's shelf.

For many years, the Shining Force series has been one of Sega's trademark titles, best known for their turn-based RPG/Strategy style of play. Now that Sega only makes games, and not consoles anymore, the sightings of another installment in the Shining Force series has been nil...Until now.
Shining Force NEO, the next in line for the Shining Force series, departs from the RPG/Strategy style that made the series popular. Instead, the game focuses on the hack-and-slash style of game play now familiar due to the fame of games such as Kingdom Hearts. It remains to be seen if this new installment can live up to the legacy of its forebears.

The ps2 game the Warriors is, if you didn't know, based on the 1979 film of the same name. While it may seem strange to make a game based on a film released so long ago, it makes perfect sense as the game does the movie justice.
Released by Rockstar Games, the makers of the GTA series, it makes perfect sense as to why this game was made. The Warriors is a complex game, much like the movie, and nobody makes complex games like Rockstar. Graffiti tagging, Stereo stealing and protection racketeering are all featured here, common, everyday activities for the gangs here.
While it may not have the best graphics, The Warriors boasts incredible audio, and the game play expounds on the universe the film touched. The Warriors is a game not only for the beat-em-up player, but for anyone who loved the movie and wanted to expound more on the mythology the film created.

God of War by Sony Computer Entertainment America is one of the best action games ever for the PlayStation 2. Period.
In this awesome action-adventure game players are thrust into the role of Kratos, a mighty warrior out for revenge against the God of War, Ares. But in order to gain his vengeance, he must find a weapon powerful enough to slay a god: The legendary Pandora's Box.
The brutality found in God of War definitely makes this game deserving of the M (Mature) rating it got, and those looking for blood, morbid humor and brutal action will surely not be disappointed. But this game doesn't just rely on blood and gore to entertain. Oh no. It uses puzzles, outstanding graphics and sound and incredible action to hook players in.
Players who are looking for just one game to play should not pass up God of War. It is certainly one of the best games to ever grace the PlayStation 2.

For the longest time, game players have been hankering for a game in the vein of the classic Final Fight or Double Dragon series of games. So far, it's mostly been one-on-one fighting games, and not the me-against-the-streets types of game urban warriors are hankering for.
Capcom's Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance aims to change all that. Taking a cue from the GTA style of play, Beat Down offers freedom of movement, and you can go just about anywhere and bust up just about anyone, a welcome change from the level-based side-scrolling beat 'em ups of yesteryear. There are five characters to choose here; offering a choice of fighting styles, and you can even rob your opponents after you beat them! This type of game play interactivity is what promises to set Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance above the rest. Only time will tell if it does.

Spartan: Total Warrior from Creative Assembly (a subsidiary of SEGA) is another game in a long line of ancient history action games that focus on the Greek/Roman periods. But does it have what it takes to be a real standout in a sea full of action games competing for your dollar?
Graphically, the game looks like a winner. The massive amounts of on-screen characters (more than 150 at one point) and the variety of tasks to be done mark it above the usual button-masher. Players here assume the role of the Spartan, a lone warrior, the last of your kind, fighting alongside the Greeks against the mighty Roman Empire.
While not historically accurate (just how can a walking statue be historically accurate?), Spartan: Total Warrior looks like a real good time on the battlefield.

The original Def Jam was a pretty impressive wrestling game. When the next Def Jam game was announced, people thought that it would just be another "pretty impressive wrestling game."
Boy, were they surprised by the sequel. Def Jam: Fight for NY is more than just your average fighting game. Abandoning the wrestling format, this Def Jam sequel takes the fight out of the ring and onto the street.
In most fighting games, it's the two-player mode of play that stands out, often at the expense of the single player game. Def Jam: Fight for NY doesn't make this mistke. Its single player mode is as immersive an expleience in a fighting game than any I've ever played. You build your fighter from the ground up, from his fighting style to his choice of bling-bling accessories, and the fights are non-linear. You can choose who and where and when to fight.
The first Def Jam was special not only because of the game play, but also because of the inclusion of several hip-hop artists as characters in the game. Def Jam: Fight for NY has them, and has them in spades! This is truly one game fans of fighting and hip-hop definitely have to have.

In 2003, Rockstar games released what would be one of the most controversial ps2 games ever made: Manhunt
In this gruesome take on the "stealth action" genre made popular by games such as the Metal Gear series, players assume the role of death row convict James Earl Cash, who is saved from execution by a mysterious benefactor only to be cast as a star in an underground gameshow, where the object is to stay alive, by any means possible, the onslaught of killers sent to kill you, all recorded in loving detail by your unknown saviour.
Manhunt is definitely not one for the kiddies. You stay alive in this game only by disposing of as many of your tormentors as possible, in the most gruesome ways possible. The game itself is an excellent stealth action game, but the whole notion of killing your enemies in um, "creative" ways marks this game as one above the rest.
