The Superman saga isn't over yet! The red cape will zoom its way to our XBox 360 screens and game consoles soon. I just wish that it won't be another superhero crap, because when Batman and Spiderman made their action adventure on video, it was so darn sloppy that even the Super Mario Brothers can overcome their extraordinary powers. It's just not enticing and believable enough to see their sissy cartoon characters with lame tricks and poor cinematic appeal. But hey, with Xbox 360, we can only expect a smashing 3D effect on screen and manipulative power of adventure.

If " Superman Returns: The Videogame" has Electronic Arts-Tiburon as a game developer, I'll bet my stakes on this one! Tiburon is behind the Madden Football games mania and I sincerely wish that the new Superman adventure will surpass its reputation. It is yet to be the greatest superhero fantasy with featured adaptation and storylines from both movie and DC Comics series. Xbox and The Man of Steel? Even kryptonite cannot destruct their powers! It's a dream come true for Superman wannabes, including me, who desperately wish to venture on a flying fantasy and save the Earth from catastrophe!

The game is expected to have less to do with Superman's infatuation with Lois Lane. Here, Superman will embark on a deadly mission to save the Metroplis from evil villains and robotic monsters. Of course, he will need a few boost of his supernatural powers like heat vision, ice breath, flight, super strength, and X-ray vision. He will look for clues and solve puzzles behind this action drama. Seeing the Xbox 360 "Superman Returns" screenshots, man, they look riveting! How would you like to lift a Washington monument and slam it against an enormous robot? At least, we no longer have Brandon Routh to taint the Superman image with gayish charm!

Whenever I am bored I always have one thing in mind, and that is playing computer games. When you search the internet, you will see a lot of computer games that you can play every single day. If you want, you can play the old games for one whole week, or probably orient yourself on a variety of new games that the internet is offering. The type of games that you want to play depends on your taste and preferences. You can choose the game that you want since you have a lot of alternatives available in just a click. You just have to decide whether you play classical games like that of 1980's hit Froggle or the timeless Super Mario or play with other Xbox games.

After some time of surfing the net for some games to check out, my cousin recommended that I try Prey. He had been playing it for a long time already and he assured me that I would definitely like this game. Basically, you play the role of Tommy, a Cherokee Indian thinking that the day couldn't possibly get any worse. Tommy has a grandfather, a tribal wise man who keeps on nagging at Tommy to embrace their heritage. Tommy's has a girlfriend and they both work in a bar, where the jerks who drink touch her girlfriend and make rude comments about Native Americans. Tommy longs to escape all the troubles and misfortunes and explore the world to make a better life for himself. Unfortunately, aliens attacked other species. These aliens do not only kill people, they just kidnap them and harvest them. Tommy's girlfriend was one of the alien captive. Tommy goes to the alien space shift to to save her girlfriend. Here begins your challenge to gather all your resources and knowledge as an ex-military Cherokee warrior. You should be able to use all your knowledge to pick the alien weapons and use them to your advantage.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
As a Native American, Tommy can have certain powers once he embrace his heritage. He can have the ability to step out of his body and travel in spirit like his ancestors. Such power is called Spirit Walk, similar to astral projection with the exemption that he can interact with his environment from the spirit dimension. Tommy can open doors and even attack aliens using his spirit weapon. You can use this power to access the areas that cannot be accessed while in a physical state. However, there is a consequence of this power. While roaming as a spirit, your physical body is in danger. You should hurry back because an alien can attack it. In Prey, your goal is to get back to your body, and your success depends on amount of help the spirits will be giving you.

Building on the success stories of its Xbox predecessors, MotoGP '06 re-launches the franchise on Xbox 360. Gamers would be met with new bike models, refined handling, tracks, and live functionality, making this a really fresh and aspirational title for even the most hardened fans of the series. This new Xbox game is launched with the current 2006 season data, giving an unparalleled accuracy to the real sport. I say, this is a great addition to the visual effects and astounding graphics that surpass any racing game to date. All extreme mode circuits have been changed, streamlined for speed and fast-flowing racing action.
There are ample of selections between extreme tracks as well as technical and formal grand prix tournament tracks. The game also offers outstanding online gaming with a number of customizing options. I can really feel like I am those car champs racing under the good weather.
What sets MotoGP 'O6 apart from other motorbike game titles is the variety of challenges that it has in store for the players. The challenges range in difficulty from incredibly easy to maddeningly difficult. Some challenges require you to manage a particularly wicked section of the track within a set amount of time, and others require you to take a set of turns and then cross a finish line at or above a certain speed. There are also "follow the leader" tasks wherein you have to cross the finish line within one second of the professional rider on the track. Indeed, the challenges are a welcome addition to the game because they give you even more incentives to master the most challenging sections of every track.

I started playing Dead Or Alive when my cousin, who happens to be a guy, developed a huge crush on the DOA female characters. I laughed at him when he told me how he got so hooked with the game and the girls. I played it one time and I must admit it's pretty addicting. It's not just the girls, although, they really appear to be the major attraction of the game. The female characters can also seriously kick some butt. I wouldn't be surprised if the girls would start to play this game.
The dead or alive ultimate is the third installment of dead or alive, if I am not mistaken. Although the combat and fight scenes of this game is somehow simple and basic, it's still something that I'd waste my time on. This game is one game that PlayStation 2 players should try, because it's best played on the Xbox. It runs smoothly as an Xbox live game. Before you try out the dead or alive ultimate, you better practice on the DOA and DOA2, first.
That way, you would be familiar with the dead or alive ultimate fight scenes and characters. If you buy the dead or alive ultimate, you'll get two sets of game discs. The other disc is for the saturn version and the other is an improved version of the dead or alive 2 game. This game can't get any better, I tell you.

Growing up, Street Fighter has always been my favorite, whether it's on the rad PlayStation 2, the Xbox, and even in the movies. Of course, my favorite Street Fighter is Blanka. I love that monstrous guy. So, when I came upon the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, I immediately bought it. Street Fighter has always been a game classic. All the cool moves and fight scenes began with Street Fighter. As a martial arts aficionado, I can easily relate to Street Fighter's moves and grooves.
The Street Fighter anniversary collection features an online gaming match. This is an Xbox live game, which makes it all the more exciting and interesting. You can play with anyone online. Usually, there aren't that much contenders online so you'll be facing people who are really into the game. You'll get to learn a lot of new moves from other contenders. Street Fighter anniversary collection is one of the leading live Xbox games today. Everyone can use different cheats, different moves, and different characters. This game is something that you shouldn't dare miss out on. So, what're you waiting for? Kick some Street Fighter butts now.

The virtual world of computer games can take you to different adventures and allow you to vicariously experience your heroic fantasies. Computer games may transport you to historical and mythical places and let you manipulate the destinies of gods and heroes. Computer games can make you a Roman general commanding a vast legion of military forces in the quest to spread civilization. Computer games will give you the intellectual challenge to device strategies and plans. Computer games will also allow you to be a virtual professional athlete. You can choose a range of sports from the popular basketball game to the more sophisticated baseball game.
One newest computer game in Xbox format is the EA Sports Arena Football. This game was recently released last February 7, 2006 by its developer, EA Tiburon. Arena football is the virtual simulation of the indoor game which offers realistic gaming experience. The realism of the game is because of its faithfulness to the rules of the American Football League. Gamers can expect fast-paced and high-scoring offenses using playbooks created by actual American Football League coaches. The game features eight-on-eight play, which includes six players who play both sides of the game.

Animals have always been favorite characters for story-telling. From Aesop’s fables to Walt Disney’s cartoons, children and adults have been fascinated by the stories wherein animals are the main characters. Using animals as characters is an effective allegorical tool. Personal human traits can directly be illustrated through animal nature. Hence, a crocodile may represent a gluttonous person and a duck may represent a blabbering idiot. Eagles can represent nobility and majesty, whereas, owls may project the image of wisdom.
Even the world of computer games has adapted the use of animal characters. Xbox's Blinx2 is one particular game that is very appealing to the young because of the use of animal characters as protagonists. This game is subtitled Master of Time and Space. The game is the continuation of the adventures of Blinx. Blinx is a heroic cat with the special ability to control time. He can make time go slow, fast forward, rewind, or stop. In this sequel, Blinx is aided by a squad of tough and agile cats in combating the menacing time monsters and criminal pig gang. This game can be played online with broadband Internet access.

Digital games are available in many formats such as PC games, Gameboy, and high-tech cellular phone games. However, the complexity and sophistication of these digital games are directly related to the processing capacity of the respective devices. Personal computers usually have the advantage of having high memory and fast processing capacity.
Realistic and movie-like games with excellent graphics can be played using personal computers. These games can also be played online with other computer users around the globe. On the other hand, Gameboy and cellular phone games have the advantage of being mobile, although games that are played with these devices are simpler.
Game consoles, such as Xbox, specialize in digital games. Game consoles have the advantage of containing many games in one package with option to upgrade or download other games. Xbox game console offers games that range from combat games to racing games, from single-shooter game to multiple-player strategy games. The racing games in Xbox are more than straightforward racing. They are simulation of real world. Project Gotham Racing3 is an example of an Xbox racing game. You can customize cars and choose different venues to race your cars. You can either play online or with the computer. You will be awarded badges and acclaim of large crowd of spectators as you achieve victory. The race venues are digital simulations of real cities such as New York or Tokyo.

Not all of us are athletic enough to engage in sports activities such as football, basketball, or professional golf games. Not all of us are brave enough to sustain injuries from combat sports such as taekwondo, aikido, or karate. Nonetheless, most of us are longing to have some adventures that can challenge us both physically and intellectually. Real sports, most especially extreme sports such as car racing or white water rafting, can give us the adventure and thrills that we want. However, these sports are not only expensive, but very dangerous. The adrenalin rush that we may get from these sports may also cause us to be rushed to the hospital.
Experiencing thrill need not to be physically dangerous. You can still be a sportsman even if you do not have the physical fitness, skills or training. You can be a sportsman vicariously through the simulation of digital games.
For instance, if you are passionate about cars and you fantasize about being a race driver, you may want to try Xbox’s Forza Motorsport. You can own, customize, and race your favorite cars in this technologically advanced and realistic game. The game is an accurate simulation of real racing. You can use your race earnings to buy spare parts and upgrades to increase your racing performance. You can collect many types of virtual car models from the 60 top manufacturers, including Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, and Dodge.

Personal computers have a great advantage of being versatile. Personal computers are capable of running different applications. Applications may include office applications such as database application programs, multi-media entertainment programs, and games. However, not all personal computers have the speed necessary in playing digital games. Game consoles such as the Microsoft Xbox has the advantage of game speed over most personal computers. Xbox also can play audio CD and DVD more clearly than PC multi-media. The games that can be played in Xbox range from single-shooter games to multi-player games to racing games. Xbox games have realistic graphics and movie-like storylines.
Xbox’s Halo2 is the improved version of Halo: Combat Evolved. This newer version allows multiple players of up to 16 individuals. The game can be played online with other gamers around the world. Halo2 is the continuation of the epic saga of the genetically enhanced super soldier, Master Chief, as he combats the relentless Covenant and preventing the destruction of humankind.
Halo2 can be played by multiple players that can group into teams and clans. Players can personalize Covenant Elite or Human Spartan Armor by customizing colors and emblems for battlefield recognition. Halo2 has superior graphics and cinematic excellence. Animation is more detailed and lighting is more realistic.

Digital games are already integral part of many handheld gadgets and personal computers. Even high-tech cellular phones have built-in games that are almost comparable to the complexity of online games. However, games in these devices are only accessories and are not the main features. Hence, it is expected that the games in these devices are somewhat still more simplistic than the games found in game consoles such as the Xbox. Xbox games may range from combat games to racing games, from puzzle games to role-playing games. Xbox games are superb both in their gaming and story-telling aspects. Games develop as stories with varying plots as you progress in the game.
One interesting Xbox game that has a good action-packed storyline is Perfect Dark Zero. This game actually joined the prequel bandwagon. The game is the prequel version of the internationally award-winning and multi-million selling game Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark Zero, like its predecessor is a first-person shooter game. The game storyline involves Joanna Dark as the main heroine. The plot revolves around shadowy corporations intending world domination. Joanna Dark and her father got involved in the struggle between the forces of good and evil. The main character is caught-up in a global conspiracy. You play the game by guiding Joanna Dark in her journey into becoming the perfect agent.

Sci-fi movies such as The One, The Matrix trilogy and Star Wars Episodes all have one thing in common. Aside from futuristic and high-tech settings, these sci-fi movies have martial arts combat scenes. The hand to hand combats enhanced the viewing of these films. These films also have some philosophical undertones inspired by Eastern philosophies. The fun thing about watching these films is that you will be inspired to explore your limitations. I do not mean literally copying the stunts shown on film, although you may try out enrolling in gym martial arts. Exploring your limitations can be vicariously done through computer games.
Xbox Jade Empire game will allow you to explore the limitations of your abilities. The game setting is an ancient and fantasy world resembling imperial China. Before embarking on your quest, you must first train under the watchful eye of a martial arts master. In the process, you will learn martial arts fighting styles as well as gain mystical powers. You then will travel across the world, from inhospitable mountains of the Land of Howling Spirits to the gardens of the Imperial city. Along the way, you will face both supernatural and human enemies. To dominate the world of the Jade Empire, you must master the different fighting styles and defeat the most powerful enemies. The great advantage of playing an Xbox game like the Jade Empire is that enjoying your game is not dependent on the computer modem speed.

Straightforward combat games can be exciting at first. Your agility and reflex are tested. You can act out your fantasy as a martial hero. However, the gory and very linear structure of this type of game can be unchallenging in the long run. Your mind might be fried watching brains being blown out and blood splattered all around. Your ears might loss their acuity by repeatedly hearing guns and ammunitions being fired in insatiable quest for carnage. You might want to try more intellectually challenging games that will able you to exercise your faculties of thinking in problem solving. You might want to try a role playing game that is rich in actions but will also allow you to think and not simply shoot whatever is moving.
Xbox’s Fable is one interesting role-playing game that will take you in a fantasy adventure. Every action you make in Fable will determine your skills, appearance and reputation. Playing the game is like creating a person that you can watch mature to spend a lifetime. You can weave a life story from birth to death. Every action has consequence. You can make your character choose the path to the service of good or you may choose to dominate with evil intent. You can watch your character grow from a helpless and innocent child to the most powerful being in the world. The Xbox game Fable will allow you to explore and shape an evolving world. You can either be a villain or a hero. Just remember to rest your eyes once and a while. Video screen staring may strain your eyes.

Gone are the days of monochromatic video games. Video games today are virtually movies that you can watch as the game develops. There are, indeed, games converted into movies such as Tomb Raider. Conversely, there are also movies converted into video computer games such as Star Wars. Games today are a far cry from the two-dimensional games of the 1980s. Real world movements, textures and perspective are accurately mimicked in the modern video computer games. The effects are more sophisticated. The objectives of the game, however, are still relatively simple. Most video computer games simply require agility of the hands using the joystick or other gaming peripherals. Most of these games are combat games that require defeating the enemies. Nonetheless, some combat games also offer intellectual challenges.
Microsoft Corporation has recognized the profitability and popularity of video computer games. The corporation has entered the gaming market by introducing the Xbox in 2005. The Xbox is Microsoft’s version of a game console patterned to Sony’s PlayStation. The Xbox is actually an integration of many games. It can play many types of games from shooting games to racing games. The graphics used are very realistic. The Xbox console can also play DVD and audio CDs which are added features not found in PlayStation. Some of the games that can be played in Xbox are Kameo: Elements of Power, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing and Forza Motorsport.

The target audience of The Chronicles of Narnia are children because basically it is a tie-in of a Disney movie, not unlike The Incredibles of last year. There are four protagonists named Peter, Lucy, Susan and Edmund and the player must follow their footsteps as they combat the White Witch of Narnia. The land of Narnia has been frozen for 100 years and a brave lion named Aslan had called out a prophecy to free the land from the grip of the White Witch. The adventure begins when the four protagonists would have to fight a horde of creatures such as Cyclops, Werewolves, Wraiths, Minotaurs, etc.
For children this game poses a lot of challenge and the big points go to the sound effects and graphics which are excellently executed. A fairly easy game, Narnia receives two points above average rating. A colorful game with overall additional fresh elements, kids will no doubt find the Chronicles of Narnia a subliminally pleasant gaming experience.

What we used to play in arcades and in our homes is now an Xbox game. Dance Dance Revolution is a dancing game in which players must step on four directional arrows on a floor mat in combination with scrolling arrows on the game screen.
Though the game can be played with a regular controller, the challenge and fun comes when players are forced to dance their way through the game. Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 3 incorporates a bunch of new modes and switches up the song list, but for many less-than-expert players will seem a little too similar to previous games.
Dance Dance Revolution, the arcade rhythm dancing game that made its way to home consoles more than five years ago, has the feature of being open and entertaining to all types of gamers, but deep for only a select few. Though jumping in for a few rounds on the easier settings will entertain most people from time to time, it is the DDR fanatics who will master the most difficult modes by perfecting every step. This task is not easy, but it seems like the only reason anyone would need to pick up more than one version of the game.

The second installment in the hyper-charged Marvel vs. Capcom fighting game series features more characters, more combos and more eye-straining visual effects that any other game of its kind. Now players can settle once and for all just who the better character is: The big Russian wrestler Zangief, of Street Fighter fame, or the thong wearing, psychic blade wielding female ninja and X-man Psylocke? (I'm with the ninja on this one, just for looks alone. Wow!)
As per many fighting games for the newer consoles, they aren't going to give you everything right from the get-go. You'll have to earn the extra costumes, features and characters by playing and earning points to buy them from the game's secrets shop. This might put off many older arcade-seasoned players, who are used to playing all of the characters at once instead of earning them, but those who never played this game, it won't be much of a problem.
The graphics might be a bit dated, and the game play might just be too crazy or intense, but the action is definitely top-notch, especially for the Marvel or Capcom fan.

Tom Clancy has always been a reliable read during an international flight, and how I wish one can play X Box games mid-flight as well. The Splinter Cell series gives you real-life counter-terrorist drama just when the real drama has been waning in the news of late. The new offering is subtitled "Double Agent," which means that Sam Fisher becomes a double agent providing a more thrilling twist in the series.
The storyline in any fourth installment is expected to be a stretch, and this one surely is. The character, even from the beginning, never looked like a convincing agent. (He's a cross between Billy Zane and Bruce Willis, and stands out as if he were the size of the two men.) Nothing bad can be said about game-playing and graphics; the same qualities that made the series such a popular game is wisely maintained. Also available for PS2, PS3 and PC.

The XBox 360 was the most awaited gaming machine this year, but there were several let-downs when the XBox was finally released. The game a lot of people were waiting for was Quake 4. This newer version of Quake II did not get the approval of gamers since the only good thing about it was the really great weapon selection and upgrades in provided in Quake 4.
The let-down however, comes from the quality of the visuals. Even though the maximum number of playing members was cut down to just 8, the screen and the map still looks as if they're too crowded. When compared to the PC version where a maximum of 16 players can participate, the visuals of the Quake 4 in the XBox 360 look inferior because of the lack of defined details about the characters and the maps. Even the voices of the characters sound muffled when played in the XBox. This is probably why a lot of expectant players were so disappointed with Quake 4.

Sure, you've heard of the Tony Hawk game series. It's become quite popular. However, the new addition -- Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is unfortunately lackluster in the gameplay division.
One can say that this game has undergone some changes, both good and bad. The good thing about this is, the storyline has improved. There are more interesting details for this new Tony Hawk addition. However, you might soon find that some parts of the story seem to take the role of a tutorial mode. However, there is quite a problem regarding the objective of the game -- it's too direct. Therefore, nothing's left to your imagination.
The graphics for the game are absolutely superb. This is especially true for the Xbox version of the series.

In Activision's new game, simply titled Gun, players are yet again thrust into a GTA-style environment, but with a twist: You're a cowboy in the old west, trying to survive and find justice for the wrongs done to you and your friends.
But while many games of this style of play involve hours upon hours of game play, Gun can be finished in a total of 6 hours. While this is a disappointment, and makes the game look rushed, what you can play is fun enough. As with many games of this type, side missions are plenty here, and are optional and not necessary to finishing the game.
For those who want a trip back in time and a decent action game to boot, they can't miss with Gun.
